How to make a braided belt/headband that's better than American Apparel!
Check out Velvet's blog here: velvetvalentine.blogspot.com Braiding fabric is a fun, easy project that's great for beginners and an awesome way to get some fun accessories into your wardrobe! The braided belt I make in this tutorial is pretty fat because that's how I wanted it, but yours can be as thick or thin as you like, depending on how wide you make your strips. If you don't know what to use to make your braid, here's some suggestions: You can buy long dresses from a thrift store for your material, use old clothes from your own wardrobe, or do what I did and score some cheap remnants from your favorite local fabric store (I believe mine was 2 bucks for a couple of yards..shweet). This isn't the only fairly easy thing you can make that AA sells, either. Enjoy and Create!
